I just love this amazing city that we live in. I get to take couples to the lake, cool bars and a super colorful graffiti park all within a few miles. I guess it is fitting to bring a couple like this with so much personality to unique and different locations. I first met Lynn about a year and a half ago while do a photo shoot for 5Fitness. She is a Yoga instructor and in just a short period of time we were able to get some very unique shots so I was very excited to take her engagement photos.

Today I am traveling to College Station to see a great friend and even a greater person, Bri Bagwell. Bri and I have done so many projects together including her website, music video, CD cover art, fundraising and, of course, photography. Our paths began about at the same time. I wanted to do more and more photography and creative projects while Bri was ready to take the Texas Country Music scene head on. We were (and hopefully still) very motivated and just wanted to produce the level of art that both of us would be proud of.

For me the day started out with snow on the ground at 6am EST in Columbus, OH heading to the airport to head home to ATX. I knew the day was going to be a bit crazy but I think mine was nothing compared to Jason and his band. When I land I learn that Jason Boland is in Austin, but his band is stuck in Tulsa due to snow. The show must go on. Sound guy, former drummer and I’m sure some other bench players had to be called in. Fortunately the band landed in Austin around 7pm and were able to put on a great show to a packed house at downtown Austin’s newest bar, Bourbon Girl.

I’m so excited to showcase the photos from Todd & Jennifer’s engagement photo shoot. We met on a gloomy overcast day but this couple brought plenty of energy to brighten up the afternoon. The first location that I brought them to was Pecan Street Cafe’ which is this old style bistro type of restaurant with an amazing back area. Since we were there at like 2pm we got the whole back area to ourselves and it was a great start to the shoot. Just about everyone is a bit nervous when they first get in front of the camera. It’s not everyday that you get all dressed up and get every angle of yourself captured with hundreds of photos at unique locations. The calm atmosphere of Pecan Street was simply perfect.

What a trip! The Steamboat MusicFest- six days, 40 bands, a world-class ski resort, a really big tent, and more than 50 shows… simply put, MusicFest is a crazy time with plenty of live music, skiing, and very, very late nights. I had the pleasure of seeing a ton of shows and hanging with some amazing musicians including Randy Rogers, Corrow Morrow, Wade Bowen, Cody Canada, Willy Braun of Reckless Kelly, Stoney LaRue, Kevin Fowler, Bri Bagwell, Rankin Twins, Patton Sparks Band, Roger Creager, Jason Boland, Hayes Carll, Jack Ingram, Evan Felker of the Turnpike Troubadours and more.

I am very proud to present the finished product of the Patton Sparks video for their song title ‘Loaded & Loud.’ This music video was shot in the middle of nowhere. We brought out an RV camper because there was no running water or anything of that sort… and the crew stayed the night. I don’t think there is any other way to shoot a summer country drinking song than camping next to a little river.
